Connected to the Community We Serve.
At Clean Mountain Escapes, we believe being a local business means more than serving our customers. It means being part of the community we call home.
We make time to learn alongside other local business owners, develop our leadership skills, and build relationships throughout the High Country. These experiences help us keep growing as business owners while staying connected to the people and businesses that make our community such a special place to live and work.
Building a Business with Purpose
WNC Women in Business

Clean Mountain Escapes is proud to be featured in WNC Women in Business, recognizing women who are building businesses and making a difference across Western North Carolina.
For our founder, Bettina Roden Saylor, this recognition is a meaningful milestone. It’s a reminder that hard work, perseverance, and staying true to your values, even when it’s difficult, can bring you closer to the vision you have for your business and your life. For Bettina, that vision has always included building a business that makes a meaningful, positive impact on the local community.
Bettina draws inspiration from people who overcome life's challenges and believes everyone deserves the opportunity to build a fulfilling life with balance between work, daily life, and creativity. Her deep commitment to equality and compassion shapes the way she approaches business and the people around her.
Connecting with other women business owners has also been an important part of her journey, offering inspiration, encouragement, and the confidence to keep moving forward. We're grateful to be part of a community of women who are helping shape the future of business in our region.
Committed to Quality as We Grow
ScaleUp WNC
Clean Mountain Escapes is proud to be part of the 2026 ScaleUp WNC cohort through Mountain BizWorks.
As our business grows, we're committed to maintaining the quality of service our customers expect. ScaleUp brings together established Western North Carolina businesses for practical education, mentorship, and connections with other local entrepreneurs.
Through the program, we're strengthening our knowledge of financial planning, cash flow, leadership, and strategic growth. We're putting what we learn into practice to make informed decisions about staffing, employee training, fair compensation, and pricing.
We believe great service starts with well-trained, dedicated
cleaning technicians that take pride in doing the job right. For our customers, that means we're continually looking for ways to improve how we operate, strengthen our business, and build a company that can continue serving the High Country well into the future.
Connecting You With Local Businesses We Trust
Boone Business Exchange

Since 2022, Clean Mountain Escapes has been part of the Boone Business Exchange, a referral network organized by the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce.
Being part of this group has helped us build lasting relationships with local business owners, learn from one another, and grow through referrals. Just as importantly, we've gotten to know other local professionals whose services we can confidently recommend to our customers.
Whether you need a trusted local business for a home project or another service, we're glad to help connect you with people we know and trust.
Supporting one another helps strengthen the local business community we all call home.
Great Service Starts With Great Leadership
Watauga Leadership Institute
In 2023, Clean Mountain Escapes participated in the Watauga Leadership Institute, a leadership development program through the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The experience helped us better understand our own leadership style, recognize the needs of our staff, and learn the difference between managing people and leading them.
Inspired by what we learned, we continued our leadership development through Encore, creating more opportunities to grow and put those lessons into practice.
One lesson that continues to guide us is the importance of
listening, asking thoughtful questions, and understanding what our cleaning technicians need to succeed.
We believe good leadership starts with understanding the people doing the work and giving them the support and guidance they need to take pride in what they do.
With the right leadership and a strong, dedicated team, we can provide the best possible service to our clients.
Leading With Authenticity and Compassion
Ridgeline Leadership

Clean Mountain Escapes continues to develop its leadership skills through Ridgeline Leadership with Dr. Jim Street.
One of the most valuable lessons has been that good leadership isn't about fitting a particular image or having all the answers. It's about being authentic, looking inward, and approaching people and situations with curiosity rather than jumping to conclusions.
Putting this mindset into practice has helped us build stronger relationships with our staff, communicate more openly, and approach challenges with greater compassion. It's also shaped how we work with our customers, helping us better understand their needs, listen to their feedback, and communicate more thoughtfully.
We believe every interaction is an opportunity to listen, learn, and find a better way forward.
